The history of the Estela Golf Course, designed by the architect Duarte Sotto-Mayor, is closely linked to the Estela Golf Club.

Founded on October 27, 1987, the Estela Golf Club was the realization of a dream for many golfers and enthusiasts, fundamentally interpreted by a group of industrialists from the north of the country who aspired to bring the practice of golf to a region lacking facilities for this purpose.

From the national calendar, all the competitions of the Portuguese Golf Federation stand out, the Atlantic Open Vinho Verde in 1990, the Portuguese Open in 1991, the Golf Gala in 1994, the XIII European Seniors Championship in 1994, the European Club Cup Trophy Men, in 2010.
