Penha Longa presents two circuits: Atlantic Championship and Monastery, providing completely different experiences throughout the amazing hills of Sintra.

The Penha Longa Golf Club, founded in 1992 hosts more than 100 golf members, extending the five-star service of Penha Longa Resort to members and visitors, offering tailored activities such as competitions with other golf clubs and social events.

The Atlantic Championship

The 18-hole Atlantic course designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., opened in 1992 and staged the Portuguese Open two years later. Every hole is different and exciting, with Jones using the contours to great effect. The course has a superb flow and the views throughout are magnificent, especially away to the coastal towns of Cascais and Estoril and to the blue Atlantic ocean.

The Monastery Course

The Monastery course, launched in 1995, also designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., is the perfect complement to its sister course. The 9-hole course is less undulated than the Atlantic Championship, offering moderated challenges which suit all levels of players. The Monastery golf course is also characterized by fast greens and narrow fairways and benefits from the stunning landscapes of the surrounding National Park.

Golf Academy
