  • The Procore Championship boasts a history dating back to 2007 when it was first staged as the Fry's Electronics Open at Grayhawk Golf Club in Arizona. Over the years, the tournament underwent several name changes, becoming the Frys.com Open, the Safeway Open, and the Fortinet Championship, before settling on the Procore Championship in 2024.

  • ⛳️ Since 2014, the tournament has been hosted at the Silverado Resort and Spa (North Course) in Napa. The course, originally designed by Ben Harmon in 1955, has seen renovations by renowned architects Robert Trent Jones in 1966 and Johnny Miller in 2011, who aimed to attract major championships to the venue.

  • The tournament has witnessed a variety of winners, including 🇨🇦 Mike Weir in the inaugural edition in 2007, and more recently Patton Kizzire in 2024. Other notable winners include 🇺🇸 Brendan Steele (2016, 2017), 🇺🇸 Max Homa (2021, 2022), and 🇺🇸 Sahith Theegala (2023).

  • 🧐 Napa is considered an old city by California standards, founded in 1847. It played a role in the Gold Rush era as a jumping-off point for miners. Napa Valley is a major tourist destination, attracting millions of visitors each year (2nd most visited in California after Disneyland). 🍇 Napa Valley is world-renowned for its wine (Napa Valley produces only about 4% of California's wine, despite its global recognition). Being in a seismically active region, some wineries in Napa Valley have taken innovative steps to become earthquake-resistant after a significant earthquake in 2014.

  • 💯 FedExCup Fall Points: 500 pts

  • Previous winner (2024): 🇺🇸 Patton Kizzire ($1,080,000) had a rather unique approach to his victory, working with a mental coach who had him doing things like hugging trees and even recording a rap song before his final round.

The grizzly bear represents strength and was chosen to symbolize the fierce resistance of American settlers during the 1846 Bear Flag Revolt against Mexican rule. The star symbolizes California's brief period as an independent republic in 1846. It also represents sovereignty. The red stripe is said to represent courage and the blood shed by those who fought for California's independence.

🇺🇸 🏌🏽‍♂️ Ryder Cup – Sept 26-28, 2025 – Bethpage State Park (Black Course), Farmingdale, Long Island, New York • USA

🗓🏌🏽‍♂️September 2025: PGA Tour🏆

  • The Ryder Cup is a biennial men's golf competition contested between teams from Europe and the United States. The event was conceived in 1921 but the first official Ryder Cup took place in 1927 at the Worcester Country Club in Massachusetts, United States.

  • Initially, the competition was between the United States and Great Britain, but in 1979 the British team expanded to include players from continental Europe to make the competition more balanced.

  • 🧐 The Ryder Cup is named after Samuel Ryder (1858-1936), a wealthy English businessman and enthusiastic golf amateur.

    • A successful seed merchant, Ryder became deeply involved in golf later in life and, recognizing the value of international competition, commissioned the iconic gold trophy. Interestingly, the figure atop the trophy is not Samuel Ryder himself, but Abe Mitchell, a prominent British golfer of the 1920s who was Ryder's friend and golf instructor.

    • The actual Ryder Cup trophy remains in the headquarters of the PGA of Great Britain and Ireland. The winning team receives an identical replica.

  • ⛳️ The 45th Ryder Cup will be held at Bethpage Black Course in Farmingdale, New York. It is a public course within Bethpage State Park and is known for its extreme difficulty. It was designed by A.W. Tillinghast and opened in 1936. The course has previously hosted the U.S. Open in 2002 and 2009, as well as the PGA Championship in 2019.

      • The remaining 6 players will be Captain's picks, chosen by the European Captain 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿Luke Donald (who captained the European team to victory in 2023).

        • Captain's picks: Shane Lowry, Sepp Straka, Ludvig Aberg, Viktor Hovland, Matt Fitzpatrick, Jon Rahm.

  • 🏆 The United States leads the overall standings with 27 wins, while Europe (including Great Britain/Ireland) has won 15 times, with 2 competitions ending in a tie.

  • There is no prize money for the players; they compete solely for the prestige of winning the Ryder Cup.

  • Previous winner 2023 (Marco Simone Golf and Country Club, Rome, Italy): Team Europe

    • Team Europe, captained by 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Luke Donald, defeated Team USA, captained by 🇺🇸 Zach Johnson, with a final score of 16.5 to 11.5
